Precise Controlled Atmosphere Glove Boxes by Labconco

Six Manual Valves with 3/8" (10 mm) Compression Fittings and 3/8" (10 mm) Hose Barbs Two valves are located both on the main chamber and transfer chamber for evacuating and re-filling the chambers via a vacuum pump and inert gas. The remaining two valves on the main chamber can be connected to a continuously re-circulating oxygen and moisture removal system-creating and preserving levels of 1 to 5 ppm oxygen. Additionally, each box has been factory tested to have no detectable leaks greater than 0.0001 ml/sec.

Chamber and Pressure Gauge

Main chamber pressure gauge monitors pressure between -5 to +5 inches of water gauge. The Pressure Relief valve activates at ±6 inches water gauge, preventing damage to the window should internal pressure exceed operational limits. The transfer chamber includes an epoxy-coated steel high vacuum sleeve to allow transfer chamber evacuation without distortion. The transfer chamber pressure gauge monitors pressure/vacuum from 0 to 29 inches of mercury.

Glove Box Construction

Precise Controlled Atmosphere Glove boxes are made of a one-piece molded, medium-density polyethylene liner (shell). This provides a durable surface that is resistant to chemical corrosion, physical damage and simplifies cleaning with its coved interior corners. Located above the glove box shell is a dry-powder epoxy-coated steel superstructure for utility placement. This superstructure also has superior corrosion resistance. Additionally, the glove box contains a laminated safety glass viewing window, 26.4"W x 12.5" H (671 mm x 318 mm) with a powder-coated steel frame and neoprene gasket that provides a tight seal. The window is removable which allows for placement of large equipment inside the glove box. Two-glove port models also come with space-saving acrylic inner and outer transfer chamber doors that pivot upward and are counterbalanced and equipped with quick latches.

An interior ceiling-mounted electrical receptacle with 5 amp maximum (115Volt models) or 2 amp maximum (230 Volt models) circuit load provides power for instrument use within the glove box. The transfer chamber, with internal dimensions of 11" x 12" (279 mm x 305 mm) has an interlocking flat shelf of dry powder-coated epoxy steel to permit objects to stand upright. There is a large internal work area that allows for 13 cubic feet (713.6 m³/hr.) of interior space within the main chamber, a 22-watt fluorescent lamp, control switches for the fluorescent light and an innermost interior receptacle.
